Weston is an attractive suburban town on the perimeter of metropolitan Boston. Early settlers discovered that the amount of useful agricultural land was limited, but colonists moving in from Watertown in the mid-17th century established scattered farms, a sawmill and several Taverns. By the 18th century residents were profiting off the traffic on Boston Post Road, including some taverns of historic performance. By 1870, substantial country estates were built in Weston by Bostonians, establishing the prosperous character of the town. The town is best know for it's school system, open space and handsome homes in quiet, well-kept neighborhoods.
