Originally settled in 1673 as part of Sudbury Plantation, Wayland is a peaceful community located at the halfway point between Boston and Worcester. The town was incorporated in 1780, but did not receive its present name until 1848. Wayland is best known for its open space, recreational amenities, convenient location and reputable school system.
